Credits & Open Source Licenses
PhonicSheets is built with high standards of pedagogical rigor, accessibility, and transparency. We gratefully acknowledge the open-source projects, datasets, and design systems that make these free resources possible.
Visual Illustrations & Iconography
The visual assets across PhonicSheets worksheets, flashcards, and phonics guides follow a unified 36×36 flat vector standard divided into two transparent provenance groups:
Twemoji Open Source Graphics (26 Assets)
26 short-vowel word illustrations (e.g., cat, bat, hat, pan, van, bed, hen, pen, leg, wet, red, pig, pin, lip, sit, kit, dog, log, box, fox, sun, cup, bus, nut, bug, tub) are sourced from Twemoji and copyrighted by Twitter, Inc. and other contributors under CC-BY 4.0.
PhonicSheets Original Standardized Vectors (9 Assets)
9 vocabulary illustrations (mat, fan, net, fin, lid, pot, mop, top, mug) were created specifically for PhonicSheets to achieve 100% visual decodable coverage for foundational CVC words, drawn to match the same child-friendly flat aesthetic and color palette.
Phonics Framework & Grapheme-Phoneme Alignment
Our word corpus and phoneme segmentation data follow systematic phonics principles and explicit phoneme-grapheme mapping. Word selections, sound-box alignments, and practice sets are project-curated for phonological accuracy and developmental appropriateness for Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners.
Pronunciation Audio Architecture
PhonicSheets utilizes a strictly verified pronunciation metadata schema. All audio references are tied to verified, uncompressed human pronunciations. No automated synthetic browser scraping or unchecked machine audio is used.
Terms of Educational Use
PhonicSheets printables and worksheets are provided free of charge for classroom instruction, homeschool education, and family literacy practice. Teachers, tutors, and parents may print and distribute physical copies for educational use without fee.
